Titusville, Fla. (March 15, 2010) – Grab your moon boots and celebrate the Space Coast’s crowning achievement: space flight! Local space organizations and companies have teamed up to host Yuri’s Night on the Space Coast: a Celebration of Human Space Flight on April 10, 2010 at the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame in Titusville, FL. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. The event features a variety of space simulators, science demonstrations, performance artists, DJ, prize drawings, and special guest speakers toasting humanity’s achievements in space.

Former NASA astronauts will be among the featured speakers. Scheduled performers include dance teams, musicians and a street magician. Ticket-holders are automatically entered into prize drawings, which will take place throughout the evening. The grand prize give-away features travel vouchers from JetBlue Airways!

Tickets include full admission into the Astronaut Hall of Fame, complete with the sights, sounds and experiences of the famous astronauts who first ventured into the frontiers of space. Guests will experience exhibits dedicated to our nation´s astronauts and realistic astronaut training simulator where they can strap in and blast off into an interactive experience.

Yuri’s Night was first held in 2001, on the 40th Anniversary of Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin’s first flight into space and, coincidentally, the launching of the first space shuttle. The largest event of last year was held at the NASA Ames center with 7,000 attendees, though parties ranged in size from gigantic to intimate. There are more than 100 parties in 36 countries on six continents hosting Yuri’s Night events this year.
