Yuri’s Night Space Coast 2010

YNSC10 is made possible through the volunteer efforts of the NSS Florida Space Coast chapter and the KSC Launching Leaders. These groups have had smaller individual Yuri’s Night events in Florida over the last few years and combined efforts in 2010 to create a largest Yuri’s Night event in Florida!

If you are interested in helping to organize our 2010 event here along the Space Coast, please email us at spacecoast (at) YurisNight.net for information.

Thanks to everyone that supports this event!

Yuri’s Night, the World Space Party

Yuri Gagarin was the first human to go into space on April 12th, 1961. The US Space Shuttle first launched on April 12th, 1981. Yuri’s Night is like the St Patrick’s Day or Cinco de Mayo for space. It is one day when all the world can come together and celebrate the power and beauty of space and what it means for each of us.

Yuri’s Night was created by space enthusiasts that wanted to join the world of art, music, dance, and exploration in a fun, party atmosphere. The event was initially intended to be local, but it exploded into a grassroots global celebration with tens of thousands of people participating in hundreds of events worldwide.

Each Yuri’s Night event is locally organized and funded, giving each party a special ‘flavor’ that is always different! From all-night dance parties in LA, to planetarium shows at the Hayden Planetarium in New York, down to our own 2010 Space Coast Party here in Florida!
